The Open Gates

Lackawanna Rail Trail

2019

The Open Gates series of digital images were exhibited as a grid in Elmira College's George Waters Gallery as part of the Faculty Art Show in November, 2019. Some prints were hand woven to create a texture suggestive of the underlying grid structure of all digital images. Note the print on the far right gallery wall is a woodblock print by 19th Century Japanese artist Hiroshige, from the Elmira College Permanent Art Collection. Photos in this introductory online gallery include documentations of an embroidered landscape from the "For the Love of Art" show  installed at SoAG in February, 2020. An updated version can be seen through the window of State of the Art Gallery for the month of July.
